Stan was a founder of the Missouri State Hockey Club as well as a founder of the Springfield Citizens Committee that advocated the construction of a recreational ice facility before Jordan Valley Ice Park opened seven years ago. Stan devotes his efforts to the off-ice operations of the Ice Bears team, including business operations, sponsorship sales, media relations and general team operations. A native of Cassville, Stan is a graduate of the University of Missouri and is retired from Mediacom in Springfield. He is involved in a number of community activities, including serving as Steering Committee Chairman of the annual Greater Ozarks Blues Festival fall event, which raises funds for the Springfield Symphony and Springfi eld Little Theatre. Stan also is serving as campaign consultant with the Tom Flanigan for State Representative campaign in the Carthage area. He is an avid hockey fan who attended 20 to 30 professional games a season before devoting his time to the Missouri State program. Stan serves as scorekeeper during home games and WebSportsRadio.Com commentator during road games. He is married to Cindy McCall-Melton.
