February 24, 2008
The Ice Bears' bid for a trip to the ACHA DII National Tournament fell just short, as the team lost to the Michigan Wolverines Saturday by a score of 5-3. The game was deadlocked with six minutes to go, when the Wolverines turned a blocked shot into a breakaway and ultimately the game-winning goal. The Ice Bears had several good chances late in the game, but were unable to find the equalizer. An empty-net goal in the last minute put the game out of reach. It's a tough loss to take, but it was still the most successful season in team history. The Ice Bears won the MACHA regular season and post-season tournament and also earned their highest-ever ranking in the ACHA Central region (#4). Congratulations to the players and coaches on an outstanding season. Ice Bears down Robert Morris College 5-3. February 22, 2008

With the win, the #4 Ice Bears will face the #6 Michigan Wolverines tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. A trip to the ACHA National Tournament in Estero, Florida will await the winner. Earlier in the day, Michigan defeated Lindenwood University by a score of 5-3. Listen to the game live at www.websportsradio.com.
